"Cuerpo Oceánico"

A ring conceived as an allegory of the ocean’s body. Each of its material and technical elements alludes to the tensions and damage caused by the exploitation of marine ecosystems.

A natural oyster cast in silver and redesigned in the shape of a fish becomes a symbol of an organism forced to produce pearls under human intervention, exposing the hidden violence behind its apparent beauty. The cultured pearl, caught under a handwoven iron net, embodies capture, overfishing, and the artificialization of marine life. The twenty-five bezel-set topazes sparkle like fragments of crystallized water, yet also evoke fragile flashes at risk of disappearing.

Together, these elements create a critical portrait of the sea: a body altered, exploited, and manipulated, which nevertheless retains a haunting beauty. Fragility here is understood as an intrinsic condition of existence: that which reveals our interdependence and boundaries.

A piece that seeks to make the scars visible.
