"The new Es Migjorn Gran Elderly house is a project that blends the natural beauty of the Menorcan countryside with the daily life of the elderly and their caregivers. Located on the border between the town and nature, next to an old talayot and next to the “lloc” of Binicodrell Vell, this building stands as a meeting space and community connection in relation to nature, resulting in the life quality of its inhabitants.
Following the traditional aesthetic of the houses of the town, the exterior of the building is whitewashed in a light color and decorative motifs of hearts and stars are added, inspired by the clothing of the horses of the local festivities of Sant Cristòfol. This decoration is related to the monumental façades of the island’s large public buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries, while allowing the building to occupy a space in the collective ideology."

Mold design (heart and star) for the façade of the new elderly house in Es Migjorn Gran, Menorca. There will be 189 hearts and 115 stars in total.
Original pieces made in wax and cast in brass.
Façade pieces in aluminum and painted with green plastic paint.
